• 2023.07/18: Chengbo was awarded the Canadian Society of Animal Science echnical Innovation in Enhancing Production of Safe Affordable Food 2023. This award recognizes excellence in technical innovation and teaching with emphasis in biotechnology, genetics, physiology, and animal behaviour. The award requires demonstration that the recipient contributed to the production of safe and affordable food of animal origin.

• 2021/7/19-22: Chengbo Chongwu, and Qianru Hui virtually attended the 2021 Poultry Science Association (PSA) Annual Meeting. Chongwu and Qianru made oral presentations and Qianru was awarded the Student Research Paper Certificate of Excellence that is presented in recognition of students who have presented high-quality research papers at the annual meeting, and the Hy-Line International Genetic & Genomics Award ($1,000) that is an award to a maximum of two graduate students whose abstract presentation was given in the area of quantitative genetics, molecular genetics, or genomic genetics. Qianru’s paper was entitled, “L-Tryptophan and phosphate sensing by the chicken extracellular calcium-sensing receptor via potential docking sites to initiate downstream G protein-coupled signaling cascades.” Congratulations to Qianru!

• 2021/7/14-17: Chengbo, Xiaoya, Chongwu, and Changing virtually attended the 2021 American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) and the Canadian Society of Animal Science (CSAS) Joint Annual Meeting and trade show. Chongwu, Xiaoya, and Changning made several poster and oral presentations. Chongwu, Xiaoya, and Changning have been awarded the 2021 CSAS Graduate Student Travel Fellowship ($250) sponsored by the Canadian Science Publishing and Agricultural Institute of Canada. Chongwu and Changning won first place ($250) and third place ($100) of CSAS Poster Awards, respectively. Congratulations to Xiaoya, Chongwu, and Changing.

• 2018.09/13: Chengbo's NSERC CRD (2018-2022) entitled" Improving bone health and eggshell quality through maintaining a desired calcium homeostasis in laying hens" was funded. It is supported by NSERC, Manitoba Egg Farmers (MEF), and Wallenstein Feed & Supply Ltd. (WFS). Dr. Karmin O and Dr. Martin Nyachoti are co-PIs for this project.

• 2018.08/01: Dr. Deborah Adewole was appointed as an Assistant  Professor and Industry Research Chair in Chicken Production for Sustainable Antibiotic Reduction, at the Department of Animal Science and Aquaculture at the Dalhousie University. Big congratulations to Deborah!!!

• 2018.07/10: Zhigang and Janghan have been awarded the 2018 CSAS Graduate Student Travel Fellowship sponsored by Canadian Science Publishing and Agricultural Institute of Canada.

• 2018.07/10: Chengbo was awarded the Canadian Society of Animal Science Young Scientist Award 2018. This award, sponsored by Masterfeeds, is in recognition of the significant contributions that Chengbo has made to livestock nutrition and nutritional biochemistry.

• 2018.07/05-07: Chengbo attended the 12th World Conference on Animal Production (WCAP) held in Vancouver.

• 2017.07: Chengbo was invited to serve a three-year term (2017 July to 2020 July) on Editorial board of Journal of Animal Science. Journal of Animal Science (JAS) is the premier journal for animal science and serves as the leading source of new knowledge and perspective in this area.

• 2017.07/17-20: Liju attended 106th Poultry Science Association Annual Meeting. Orlando, Florida, USA, and presented a poster entitled "Expression of umami receptors T1R1/T1R3 in different tissues including intestinal segments of broiler chickens."
